For those of you following the Support System for Parents Video Series, Part 2 is up and ready for viewing. You’ll find it and the previous videos in the series at the Life Dreams Channel of WebTV4Women. In the new clip, I share five more ways you can support parents of a hospitalized child, even if you can’t get there to visit. Next week, I’ll upload the final episode in the series – five ways to help parents when you stop in for a visit.

But we were so wrapped up in our son’s needs and negotiating the hospital, our minds went blank every time they asked. However, that didn’t stop our friends. And from what I’ve learned from other parents in similar situations, it didn’t stop their friends either.

In my part of the country, 2010 arrived with bone-chilling cold and more snow than we’ve seen in a long time. The cold weather’s keeping me closer to home than usual. As a result, I came up with a WebTV4Women program to keep me busy until the snow melts.

Life Dreams

Life Dreams is designed to provide encouragement and practical tips for parents of special need kids. Some of the programs are based on my own experiences with our son who had special needs as a child. Some are based on the interviews conducted with parents, doctors, and survivors of critical childhood illnesses while researching A Different Dream for My Child: Meditations for Parents of Critically or Chronically Ill Children.

Last week, I uploaded an introductory episode which you can watch at the Life Dreams channel. My goal is to upload one program a week, but since technology is not my thing, I reserve the right to fall short of the goal – at least until I get the hang of things.
