7 Great Toys for Kids with Special Needs

Another informative post has come to light, compliments of google alerts. This one comes from Stacie Lewis at Momformation Blog. If you’re looking for toys a toddler with special needs will love, this column’s for you.
Meet Stacie Lewis
Stacie is the mother of May, an absolutely adorable two-year-old. May is Stacie’s first child and was born severely brain-damaged. According to Stacie, “May doesn’t know or care about this fact. She is determined to rule the world (or at least her parents) with her superior power of cuteness.” The 7 toys reviewed in Stacie’s post were field-tested by May, who is small for her age and has limited use of her hands.
Meet the Toys
In the interest of full disclosure, the above picture is not one of the toys reviewed. But it was so darn cute, I couldn’t resist using it. Here’s a list of the toys that made Stacie’s list:
- The Bumbo Seat
- Baby’s Learning Laptop
- Learn and Dance Interactive Zoo
- Rainforest Jumperoo
- Noisy Jungle Soft Play Book
- Bat and Wobble Penguin
- Baby Tap-a-Tune Piano

To read Stacie’s review and access links, check out her post at Momformation Blog. Even if you don’t care about the toys, you might want to visit the site to see little May, who models how to use the Bumbo Seat.
Finding toys kids with special needs can manipulate on their own can be a challenge. If you’ve discovered others to add to the list, please leave your suggestions and a link (if there is one) in the comments section. Toy shoppers everywhere will thank you!
Wishing I fit in a Bumbo Seat,
Jolene
