The Parent’s Plate with Brenda Nixon

Brenda Nixon

A few months ago I met Brenda Nixon, author of The Birth to Five Book, a tremedous resource for parents of young children, whether or not they have special needs.

The Parent’s Plate

Brenda is a speaker and hosts a parenting show called The Parents’ Plate. She knows how easy it is to overfill a parent’s plate and provides simple strategies to help you empty it. If you’re looking for good advice from a variety of parenting experts, she interviews a new author or speaker every week. If your organization is looking for a speaker, check out her website for more information about how to contact her.

Child in the Hospital?

Recently, Brenda interviewed me for her show, though I don’t consider myself a parenting expert. But she’s a great interviewer, and we shared several great resources for parents, including several stories from my book, A Different Dream for My Child: Meditations for Parents of Critically or Chronically Ill Children. You can listen to a podcast of the interview at this link. Just click on the program titled Child in the Hospital?

If you order Brenda’s book or listen to the interview, leave a comment and share your thoughts. I’d love to hear from you!

Off to clear my plate,
Jolene

Thanks for the encouragement, and I will keep encouraging parents of kids with special needs at this blog. Their job never ends, so I won’t quit either.
