Terri Mauro’s article at about.com has some great advice about how parents can engineer more successful holiday outings with special needs kids. Among other things, her common sense suggestions include making an escape plan in case things go wrong and bringing supplies and toys your kids like.To read more of Terri’s practical tips go to www.about.com.
Special Children Newsletter
The about.com site has lots of other resources for parents. At the top right of the screen, you can sign up for a special children newsletter. If you scroll to the bottom of the article, you’ll find links to articles on a variety of topics like special needs gift-giving and sensory integration tools and toys. They even have a link to a book list, though it doesn’t include A Different Dream for My Child, at least not yet. As soon as this blog gets posted, I’m going to contact Terri and see about changing that!
So check out Terri’s great advice at about.com and let me know what you think. I’d love to hear from you!
Happy Holidays,
